About
Since May 2009, I graduated from college, moved to Brooklyn and got a job on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. At this point I’m still enjoying the newness of my freedom, paychecks, and the strange and tragic beauty of the F train. I don’t know how long my appreciation for the latter will last, but at this point I’m embracing it. Always looking for a way to flex my writing muscles, I thought this new phase in my life was the perfect opportunity to blog about my experiences.
This isn’t a diary. It just sounded nice. I can’t promise I’ll be witty or snarky or philosophical all the time. I don’t like to make promises and not live up to them (see: 2nd ave subway line). So I’ll just say that I hope to make it enjoyable, at the very least. But don’t quote me on that.
I also keep track of the books I read voraciously whilst on the train (and sometimes on my lunch break). I presume that no one wants to read a review of any of these novels, but I’ve listed them under “Subway Readings” as much for my own sake as for yours.
